A little gentle care helps protect the color and fit of your shirt. Follow these tips along with any additional instructions on its garment label.
- Turn inside out and machine wash cold on a gentle cycle.
- Wash separately for the first few washes, then with similar colors.
- Use a mild detergent. Avoid bleach and bleach-containing products.
- Remove promptly after washing. Avoid long soaking or leaving the shirt wet against other fabrics.
- Reshape and air-dry in the shade. If the garment label allows, tumble dry on low. Avoid high heat and overdrying.
Cotton may shrink. Gentle washing and drying help preserve the fit.
Every fold has its own magic
Each shirt is individually hand-dyed. Variations in color, pattern, and symmetry are part of its character, and colors may look different across screens. Washing separately at first is a precaution against possible dye transfer.

Every Magic in the Fold piece is hand-dyed by me, Matthew. It’s a labor of love, made with care, time, and a little creative unpredictability. Natural variations in color, pattern, and symmetry are part of what makes each piece its own work of art.
Handmade art & final sales
All sales are final. I don’t accept returns or exchanges for a change of mind or a size you selected, so please confirm the measurements and ask any questions before ordering. I’m happy to help you choose a piece that feels right for you.
For custom work, you choose the size, colors, and broad style, and I create the final design. Each piece is an original; examples show a direction, and exact patterns or color placement can’t be replicated.
If something isn’t right
I put care into every piece, and I want it to reach you safely. If it arrives damaged, has a quality issue, is materially different from its description, is the wrong item, or doesn’t arrive, please contact me at @magics_dyes promptly with your order details and photos if possible. I’ll work with you toward a fair solution, which may include a repair, replacement, or refund depending on what happened. Please keep any damaged packaging while we look into it.

How do I care for my shirt?

Each piece is handmade art, and all sales are final for changes of mind or customer-selected sizing. Please check measurements before ordering. You can choose a broad style, such as a mandala or organic flow, and request your favorite colors. Matthew creates the final design with creative freedom. Each piece is original, so exact replicas, fixed layouts, and detailed design commissions aren’t offered.
What sizes can I request?
Shirts come in multiple sizes, and custom size requests are welcome. For tapestries, share your preferred dimensions. Matthew will confirm what’s possible and any sizing details when he responds to your request.
How long does an order take?
Orders are fulfilled within two weeks. Matthew will confirm the timing and shipping details with you before your order is finalized.
How do pricing and payment work?
The displayed shirt collection is sold out and remains here as a gallery of Matthew’s work. Custom shirts start at $110, with elaborate pieces from $145. Tapestries are quoted individually by size and complexity. Send a request on Instagram and Matthew will confirm the final price, sizing, shipping, and payment arrangements. Preparing a request does not place an order or require payment.
